Enroute from Trinidad & Tobago on February 11, 2008 the Catalunya Spirit, owned by Teekay and under charter to Suez, lost propulsion power. Tugs were dispatched along with United States Coast Guard escort vessels. In an abundance of caution, the decision was made not to bring the ship into Boston Harbor to be offloaded at Everett, but rather to keep the ship at safe anchorage until the necessary repairs could be made.
